ABOUT RUDRAKSHA BEADS

Rudraksha are very precious. Spiritually they have been worn and used for puja and meditation for many centuries. They are considered to be very holy and healing in their effect on the owner or wearer. Forming naturally from the rudraksha tree, they grow in the wild and are found in the Himalayas in India and Nepal, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia.

The name rudraksha stems from Hindu mythology and means “the eyes of Shiva”. It is widely believed that the god meditated on the welfare of mankind. He emerged crying tears of compassion. The tears upon hitting the earth crystallized to form these trees.

Medicinally they are known to: heal many of the mind, body ailments: they are cooling when worn against the skin: reduce heart disease and lower blood pressure; increase main clarity, memory & general awareness; Calms the central nervous system; helps quiet the mind & free negative thought; increases immunity, energy & stamina, with rejuvenating qualities.

Extensive scientific research has been conducted over the years by leading scientists in universities in India, and now also in the west. Their findings have proven that rudraksha beads have certain electrical and magnetic properties, and when worn against the skin, and especially over the heart, act on our human neural network in a number of beneficial ways When we wear rudraksha we are literally carrying sacks of oxygen, carbon and hydrogen against our bodies. Increasing negative ion levels and also we are soaking up the vibration of pure living organisms. This in turn acting on our central nervous system, including the release of chemicals in our bodies responsible for uplifting mood, emotional response, and calm mind. Many people for this reason alone have found freedom from stress, depression and lethargy in the use of rudraksha.
